Charles Shorter, a Network employee since 2002, has over 25 years’ experience in the field of health and social services. Before assuming his role as the Executive Director of the Network’s Ryan/Adair Center in 2009, and Ryan/Frederick Douglass Center in 2016, Mr. Shorter served as the Director of Special projects at Ryan/Chelsea-Clinton Center, where he oversaw the Center’s HIV Services, including the provision of primary medical care, case management, and HIV testing and counseling for infected and affected populations. Mr. Shorter is a Board Member of several community based organizations, and has also been the Community Co-Chair of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s HIV Health and Human Services Council; as well as the Co-Chair of the New York State Department of Health, AIDS Institute’s Faith Communities project – Manhattan Region.
Dr. Venis Wilder joined the Ryan Network in March 2016 as the Associate Medical Director for the Ryan/Adair Community Health Center. Upon the opening of the Ryan Frederick/Douglass Community Health Center in June, 2016, Dr. Wilder became the Medical Director for both locations. Dr. Wilder is Board Certified in Family Medicine, and received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. Prior to joining the Ryan Network, Dr. Wilder worked at the Family Health Center of Harlem.
