William Murphy took over leadership of Ryan/Chelsea-Clinton in 2013, after 25 years of experience with the Ryan Network, including serving as the Chief Administrative Officer and overseeing the daily operations of Ryan’s Women and Children’s Center, as well as holding responsibility for administering and ensuring the seamless integration of Ryan’s programs targeted to special populations, including School Based Health Care and the Health Care for the Homeless programs. Mr. Murphy has served as a member of the NACHC Committees on HIV/Substance Abuse and Health Policy, and NACHC’s Homeless Health Care Committee. He also served as a past Co-Chair of the Steering Committee of the NYC/NYSDOH: Project WAVE (War Against the Virus Escalating).
Dr. Birenbaum joined the Ryan/Chelsea-Clinton Community Health Center as the Medical Director in June, 2015. Dr. Birenbaum is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and received her medical degree from SUNY at Stony Brook. Prior to joining Ryan/Chelsea-Clinton, Dr. Birenbaum worked as the Medical Director of The Robert Mapplethorpe Residential Treatment Facility and the Faculty Practice at Phillips Ambulatory Care Center at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital. Prior to that she was a partner in a hospital-based group practice and served as Director of Medical Education in the Department of Internal Medicine at New York Downtown Hospital.
