God’s Love We Deliver is New York City’s leading not-for-profit provider of medically tailored meals and nutrition counseling for people living with life-threatening illnesses. We’re dedicated to cooking – and delivering – the specific, nutritious meals a client’s severe illness and treatment so urgently require. God’s Love supports families by providing meals for the children and caregivers of clients. All services are provided free of charge to clients, as well as full of love.
God’s Love delivers delicious meals right to your door whether you’re living with or recovering from an illness, or having trouble shopping or cooking. Since 1985, there has never been a waiting list to receive meals. The medically tailored meals God’s Love delivers are important because of the “food is medicine” approach. That is, to lower healthcare costs, lower hospitalizations and reduce readmittance rates, and improve patient satisfaction. To support our clients’ health, God’s Love We Deliver also provides ongoing nutrition assessment, education, and counseling. Their team of Registered Dietitian Nutritionists works with you to design your individualized meal plan.
Fresh, healthy meals can make all the difference in the world if you or someone you love is living with a chronic or life-altering illness. Our clients are living with cancer, Alzheimer’s Disease, ALS, renal failure, COPD, HIV/AIDS, and other serious conditions. We offer additional coverage for those with gestational diabetes (developed during pregnancy), clients with young children, and veterans with PTSD and/or substance issues, and more than 200 diagnoses. We believe that no one should have to suffer the dual crises of hunger and illness. Proper nutrition is vital to improving the health and well-being of the body and mind.
God's Love We Deliver serves the five boroughs of New York City, Westchester and Nassau Counties, and Hudson County, NJ. We were deemed an Essential Services Provider at the start of COVID-19 and have not missed one delivery day. At the height of the pandemic, God’s Love saw a 30% increase in demand. The compassion and dedication of our 9,000 volunteers (17,000/year pre-COVID) who chop, prepare, and deliver these meals makes it all possible. They log an annual 145,000 hours of service, with a savings of over $2 million (pre-pandemic).
Illness knows no boundaries. God's Love We Deliver serves every demographic regardless of socioeconomic status, age, or income. We currently serve 10,000 individuals. This year we will cook and home-deliver more than 3 million meals, delivering more than 11,000 meals each day.
