Honoring The Legacy of Barbra E. Minch, Former Ryan Health President & CEO
The Ryan Health Board of Directors, leadership, and team members mourn the passing of our extraordinary former President and CEO, Barbra E. Minch.
For 35 years, Barbra’s visionary leadership transformed community healthcare across New York City. Driven by the conviction that healthcare is a right, she refused to accept barriers where equity and justice were concerned. Rooted in her early advocacy on the Upper West Side, she became a beloved mentor to generations of health center leaders and a trusted confidante to civic and healthcare champions, renowned for bringing people together to solve complex challenges.
Her impact extended widely across the state and nation. Barbra served on the Community Health Care Association of New York State Board of Directors for over 15 years, co-chairing the Public Policy Committee to advance health centers throughout New York. Nationally, she was an influential voice within National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), serving on numerous committees, receiving the distinguished John Gilbert Award of Excellence, and earning induction into the NACHC Hall of Fame.
Barbra’s legacy lives on in the thriving network of health centers she built, the leaders she mentored, and the countless lives she touched. We extend our deepest condolences to her family, loved ones, and friends. We stand profoundly grateful for her remarkable life and enduring impact.
