Remembering September 11, 2001 by Brian McIndoe, President & CEO
None of us can forget September 11, 2001. If you were in New York City, that day is a defining moment in your life. If you were in another part of the country, those events are still seared in your memory. 9/11 changed all of us, as a city and as a country.
Saturday is the 20th anniversary of 9/11. It will be a somber day for many. You may have lost friends or family members – a profound loss that never goes away. For some, you may have been working on the frontlines as a first responder, a health care worker, or in some other capacity to help the families and individuals impacted.
Ryan Health played a part in healing New York City. We increased our mental health capacity for those suffering from PTSD due to the attack and the aftermath. Our commitment to serving New Yorkers in their time of greatest need was as firm then as it is today in our current crises.
There will be ceremonies around the City and the country honoring the victims of 9/11. Please take a moment to remember them, first responders and workers who have died of 9/11-related illnesses, and the many who have perished in the conflicts that arose from that day, and their families who lost a part of themselves and their history.
