Ryan Health Expands Pediatric Practice at Ryan Health | NENA On the Lower East Side.

NEW YORK — Ryan Health, a mission-driven network of community health centers in Manhattan, has expanded its pediatric practice at Ryan Health | NENA with the addition of a new pediatrician, Janice N. John-Lewis, DO, MPH. She brings extensive experience treating children and keeping them healthy to the Lower East Side.

“Our growing pediatric practice at Ryan Health | NENA is improving the health of our youngest patients on the Lower East Side,” says Leslie Pargament, Executive Director of Ryan Health | NENA. “Getting kids on the right health path while they’re young leads to healthier teens and adults.”

Dr. Janice N. John-Lewis comes to Ryan Health | NENA with over 15 years of experience serving children from newborns to 18 years old. Prior to coming to Ryan Health | NENA, she provided pediatric care at Scranton Primary Health Care Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Hudson River Health Care at MLK, Jr. Health Center in Wyandanch, NY, Queens Pediatric Care in Howard Beach, NY, and Temple Health Connection of North Philadelphia. Dr. John-Lewis received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, her Master’s in Public Health from Temple University in Philadelphia, and her Bachelor of Science from the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA. She is Board certified in pediatrics.

Children grow and change rapidly during the first three years of their lives. Due to such rapid changes, they are at higher risk for growth concerns, anemia, and developmental delays. As a result, most well-child visits take place during that time, then yearly after their third birthday for a healthy child. Patients who are already enrolled at Ryan Health can see a pediatrician from birth to 21 years of age, and new patients can enter pediatric care up to the age of 19. If your child needs to see a specialist, our doctors and nurses work closely with the specialist to ensure coordinated care that properly manages your child’s health.
