Ryan Health Hosted Healthcare and City Leaders for 2026 Caring for New York Celebration -- Congressman Jerry Nadler and Paul E. Portsmore, President and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelis Care, Honored --

NEW YORK, NY — Ryan Health gathered 300 leaders from healthcare, business, and philanthropy for its annual Caring for New York Celebration. The premier fundraising event took place Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 583 Park Avenue in Manhattan.

The event directly supports Ryan Health’s mission of providing high-quality care to New York’s most vulnerable communities. Proceeds from the evening will support the organization's new Harlem location on 135th Street, expanding vital neighborhood access to primary care, mental health support, dental, optical, and obesity management services.

"Tonight is about securing healthcare as a fundamental right for every single New Yorker, regardless of their background or neighborhood," said Daniel Pichinson, President and CEO of Ryan Health. "As we look toward opening a new center in Harlem on 135th Street, the support we are receiving tonight allows us to dismantle systemic health inequities head-on. We are deeply grateful to our community, our sponsors, and tonight's distinguished honorees for standing with us in this vital work."

The evening featured special recognitions for two long-standing champions of community wellness and equity. Congressman Jerry Nadler received the Community Impact Award for his decades of public advocacy regarding healthcare access and civil rights, and Paul E. Portsmore, President and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelis Care, accepted the Partner in Advancing Community Health Award.

“Tonight, while I am grateful for this recognition — truly grateful — I want to turn it back around. The real honorees in this room are the people who show up every day: who staff the clinics and the school-based health centers, who take the mobile van into the neighborhoods that need it, who treat every patient who walks through the door with dignity,” said Congressman Jerrold Nadler.

"Fidelis Care is immensely proud to partner with Ryan Health to ensure thousands of individuals and families across New York City have access to the quality health coverage and compassionate care they deserve," said Paul E. Portsmore, President and CEO of Fidelis Care. "True community health requires collaborative, innovative partnerships that reach people where they live. Receiving this honor tonight is a testament to what we can achieve when we align our missions to lift up New York’s most vulnerable populations."

Ryan Health extended its sincere gratitude to this year’s corporate sponsors, including Fidelis Care as a Health Champion, alongside Healthfirst and Quest Diagnostics serving as Health Crusaders.
