Meet Our New Providers at Ryan Health | Wadsworth
Ryan Health | Wadsworth in Washington Heights is growing! We’ve expanded our provider team to ensure this vibrant neighborhood is receiving critical healthcare services with providers who are fluent in English, Spanish, and Korean.
For more than 50 years Ryan Health’s providers have delivered high quality, affordable, comprehensive primary medical care, dental care, mental health, and specialty services to individuals and families. At Ryan Health | Wadsworth, we are offering adult primary care, pediatrics, women’s health, HIV/AIDS prevention and care, and sexual and reproductive health. Through our network, you also have access to multiple specialty services.
We have recently added several new members to the Wadsworth Care Team. Learn about them below!
Vanessa Fernandez, MD
At Ryan Health, Dr. Vanessa Fernandez will provide a full range of primary care services to children and adults. Fluent in English and Spanish, she comes to Ryan Health after three years at Heritage Health and Housing, Inc. in Harlem, where she was a Family Medicine Physician. Prior to that, Dr. Fernandez completed her residency in Family Medicine at Hoboken University Medical Center in Hoboken, New Jersey, where she also served as Chief Resident.
“Primary care is the key to lifelong good health, it’s so important for our community to have access to high-quality, affordable care. I’m excited that I will continue caring for the Washington Heights community at Ryan Health | Wadsworth,” Dr. Fernandez says.
Jisu Han, DO
Dr. Jiso Han joins Ryan Health after completing her Family Medicine Residency and Sleep Medicine Fellowship at Hackensack Meridian Health - JFK Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey. She is delivering primary care and sleep medicine expertise to our pediatric and adult patients. Dr. Han is fluent in English and Korean.
“I’m thrilled to practice primary care medicine in the Washington Heights community,” Dr. Han says. “Expanding our services and capabilities at Ryan Health | Wadsworth will create a much healthier neighborhood.”
Gary E. Eddey, MD
Dr. Gary Eddey rejoins Ryan Health | Wadsworth, after retiring as Medical Director at Ryan Health | Women and Children’s. He is a general academic pediatrician who has cared for children and young adults with significant physical disabilities for most of his career. In addition to his work with Ryan Health, Dr. Eddey is also Chief Medical Officer at Boston Rare Connections and is a consultant to the Gene Therapy Program at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medicine and a Master’s degree from the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh in Human and Population Genetics.
Gabriela Hayes, PA
Physician Assistant Gabriela Hayes, who speaks English and Spanish, is now part of the Care Team at Ryan Health | Wadsworth on a full-time basis. She came to Ryan Health from Birmingham Alabama, where she received her Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies and her Master’s of Public Health from the University of Alabama. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She comes with previous healthcare experience from Cahaba Pain and Spine Care in Birmingham, AL, and Eastern Shore Children’s Clinic in Fairhope, AL.
