Emotional Wellness
Are you or a loved one feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or sad? Are you experiencing relationship or family problems, loss, and/or grief? Have you recently experienced a major transition in your life and need support?
Ryan Health’s Emotional Wellness team is here to help when things get difficult. We provide quality, confidential, and comprehensive emotional, psychological, and social wellness services to children, adolescents, adults, and families in a safe, warm, and trusting environment.
Our wide array of services are patient-centered and strength-based. We offer both short-term (usually 3-6 months) and long-term (usually 12-18 months) services. These services are provided in-person and virtually through telehealth sessions by experienced, empathic mental health professionals. Our Short-term Therapy (Behavioral Health Integration) is integrated with Ryan’s Comprehensive Primary Care so that you are referred by your primary care physician.
Therapies we offer:
Individual Therapy
Our one-on-one psychotherapy sessions provide a safe and confidential space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and challenges. Our therapists are skilled in addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, behavioral challenges, and identity exploration.
Family Therapy
Our trained family therapists provide quality family therapy sessions that focus on improving communication, resolving conflicts, and strengthening relationships among family members. Family therapy can involve any combination of loved ones, such as parents/guardians and their children, siblings, grandparents, friends, or kinship caregivers.
Couples Therapy
Our therapists are committed to helping you and your partner be happier together. Couples therapy can help increase understanding, respect, affection, and intimacy. The goal of couples therapy is to have a deeper understanding of your own needs within the relationship and the needs of your partner so that you both feel satisfied and fulfilled.
Group Therapy
Our therapists offer group therapy to groups of 3 or more patients who are working through similar issues. One of the benefits of group therapy is that it brings patients with similar experiences together and helps them feel supported, realizing that they are not alone in their healing journey.
Psychiatric Evaluations & Medication Management
Our trained and experienced Psychiatrists and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners provide thorough and comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for the patients of the Emotional Wellness Center. Psychiatric evaluations assess patients’ mental health status and need for supportive medication management.
Modalities of Treatment
Play Therapy
Our experienced child therapists offer children a safe, comfortable environment to process complex thoughts and emotions that might be difficult for them to process alone. Using games, dolls, role-play, drawings, and more, our therapists work with children to address behavioral challenges, improve attachment, develop healthy coping skills, and build self-esteem. Our therapists aim to foster safety, trust, and healing. And, of course, primary caregivers are involved throughout the treatment.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic Therapy is a common, insight-driven form of talk therapy that explores the connection between past experiences and present behavior. The goals of psychodynamic therapy are patient self-awareness and understanding the influence of the past on present behavior.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral therapy is an effective talk therapy treatment that focuses on changing negative thought patterns and teaching coping strategies. The goal of CBT is to identify unrealistic perceptions and how they contribute to current behaviors.
